The 327th Star Corps was an elite corps of clone troopers during the Clone Wars. They were one of the most active units in the Grand Army of the Republic, and fell under the 2nd Sector Army and Systems Army Alpha.
Characteristics
A 327th Star Corps trooper wearing a kama and a pauldron. The troops of the 327th Star Corps were distinguished by striped yellow markings running the length of their armor and, as a result of Clone Marshal Commander Bly's ARC training, his troopers were allowed to don kamas and command pauldrons.
History
Under the control of Jedi Generals Aayla Secura and Barriss Offee, as well as Clone Commander Bly, the 327th served as the Republic's spearhead into the Outer Rim Territories in the latter days of the Clone Wars. The troopers of the 327th saw action on such diverse worlds as New Holstice, Anzat, Dromund Kaas, and Honoghr.
The corps was deployed in full force during the Republic's five-month siege of Saleucami, which pitted the Jedi and their clone troopers against a massive Morgukai clone army. After the CIS forces were crushed, the 327th were deployed to the Commerce Guild purse world Felucia in an attempt to capture Presidente Shu Mai. Arriving aboard the Venator-class Star Destroyer Intrepid, the initial days of the assault saw a string of success for Bly and his troops, despite the fact that Shu Mai managed to elude capture.
As the 327th pushed through the planet's southern hemisphere, with some help from the elite 501st Legion, Bly received Order 66 via a top-secret channel. Order 66 branded Aayla Secura and the rest of the Jedi in command of the corps as enemies of the Republic. When Aayla was distracted by a low-flying bird, Bly and his lieutenants poured blaster fire into their Jedi General.
Presumably, the 327th went on to capture Felucia. It would continue to faithfully serve the Galactic Empire.

 "Blast the spy!"
¯Stormtrooper
The term Bothan spy was used to refer to various Bothan spies and intelligence agents employed by various governments and organizations including the Galactic Empire, Rebel Alliance, New Republic and criminal groups to gather intelligence on each other. One notable Bothan spy was Borsk Fey'lya.
The species
"Get the Bothan!"
¯Stormtrooper
Bothans were masters in information gathering for over 300 years. The Bothan Spynet was one of the largest intelligence organizations in the galaxy, with operatives stationed on a number of worlds. After the outbreak the Galactic Civil War, the Bothan spy network primarily benefited the Rebel Alliance but also to a lesser extent the Empire. Due to their reputation, Bothan spies were regarded as power-hungry, manipulative, cunning, and paranoid; but they were also recognized as being well organized, intelligent, and loyal.
Military
The Bothan Combat Response Element was started by Bothan volunteers for the New Republic Defense Fleet in 9 ABY to counter the growing danger of the Imperial Remnant. They were placed under the command of Captain Kursk Mal'ia. The Bothan Combat Response Element maintained a fleet of Bothan Assault Cruisers as well as other capital ships. Bothan Spies were known as masters of stealth, especially because they could sneak into enemies' areas without being detected. Also, they were known to carry hand-held disintegrator weapons which could vaporize enemy troops.

Rebel pilots assemble in the retrofitted briefing room within the ancient Massassi Temple prior to the Battle of Yavin.
Rebel pilots flew starfighters, light freighters, and atmospheric repulsorlift vehicles for the Alliance Starfighter Corps of the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. Like the rest of the Alliance Military (and unlike the Imperial Navy), they came from a wide variety of species, planets, and backgrounds. Some were defectors trained at one of the Imperial Academies, while others were former scouts, smugglers, pirates or independent traders, or bush pilots from the Outer Rim.
Rebel pilots had a reputation for bravery, since they were almost always outnumbered when they went into battle. They also had a reputation for skill and success, after such Rebel victories as the Battle of Yavin and the Battle of Endor.
Rebel pilots wore orange, green, or beige flight suits. The flight suits had a winter vest such as the ones worn on Hoth. They wore a flak vest with a life support box on top. They also wore the famous helmet which included an orange visor with a special computer projection for targeting.

 Sandtroopers marching through Mos Eisley.
A sandtrooper, or desert trooper, was an Imperial stormtrooper equipped with modified armor and equipment to withstand the harsh climates of desert planets like Tatooine.
Equipment
They were identical to standard stormtroopers except they had additional training in specialized areas and advanced cooling systems in both their helmets and suits that offered them protection from the relentless heat.
Their armor consisted of an 18 piece anti-blaster cocoon shell with heat-reflective coating worn over a temperature-control body glove. The sandtrooper helmet featured automatic polarized lenses, a built-in comlink, and breathing filters. Their armor, however, was similar to that of a regular stormtrooper.
All desert sandtroopers carried E-11 blaster rifles or T-21 light repeating blasters, long-range comlinks, and food and water packs. Sandtroopers wore colored pauldrons as a designation of rank. A sandtrooper sergeant's pauldron was white, while an enlisted trooper's pauldron was all black. Squad leaders, who led units of seven troopers, wore orange shoulder pauldrons.
History
Sandtroopers were specifically equipped for high temperature environments. As a result, these soldiers were also assigned to hot, wet, and tropical terrain operations since their cooling units and sealed water systems could be easily modified to cope with such areas. Instead of depending on machinery that may not function in hostile environments, sandtroopers made use of local creatures for transportation such as dewbacks.
They were primarily assigned to search-and-destroy missions.
