Kevin Costner plays a shell-shocked Vietnam Veteran whose emotional issues prevent him from being able to hold down a job and care for his impoverished family. Stu Simmons (Elijah Wood), his sister and their friends spend the summer building a tree house, and learn their own lessons about war and peace in a conflict with a neighboring gang of kids who seek to destroy what they have built. The film gained Wood a young actor's award.

Radio Flyer
Movie and Premier

Radio flyer is a 1992 American movie about child abuse.
The film, directed by Richard Donner, stars Elijah Wood, Joseph Mazzello, Tom Hanks, Lorraine Bracco, Adam Baldwin, and Ben Johnson. At one point in the movie one of the boys fits wings and a model aircraft engine to a Radio Flyer wagon and flies away from home to escape abusive stepfather "The King" (Baldwin). There has been speculation that this fantastical journey was intended as a metaphor for suicide, but this has been denied by Donner.
